Walesch Electronic GmbH is a Swiss-based company with over 29
years (since 1985) of experience in the field of vibration measuring
instruments.
The company makes a range of analogue and digital VIBRAS
models which are most suitable for measuring vibration
originating from blasting, pile driving and traffic. These
VIBRAS modular built instruments are constructed on an open
architecture computer concept which provides the facility of
accommodating future technological developments.
A VIBRAS systems consist of two main components; the sensors and
the evaluation instrument. The sensor function is to measure the
vibration and to register data while the evaluation instrument
collects and evaluates the sensor data, control the sensors and
performs the necessary user interface related functions.
The evaluation instrument
automatically accumulates all resulting event data in RAM memory
which, if required, are subsequently transferred to a hard disk
of the instrument or to a higher level computer. The VIBRAS also
offers a facility for the later evaluation of measurements which
have previously been stored on the hard disk.
The VIBRAS systems conform to precision class 1 according to the
DIN 45669. The compact design of the equipment is contained
within a robust and portable case, (IP-65). An on-board
pin-in/switch-on dialogue system allows a trouble-free and
simple installation by the user. Up to 16 triaxial sensors may
be connected to a single VIBRAS evaluation instrument, thereby
enabling simultaneous monitoring at 16 independent locations,
each in three orthogonal directions, i.e. 48 channels.
The VIBRAS is ideal for registration of short duration events as
well as measurements over extended periods of time, such as
blasting, pile driving and traffic. lts printer permits an
informative representation of vibration data in both graphical
and tabular formats. Remote control and data transfer of all
data between the evaluation instrument and a computer (IBM PC or
Macintosh) can be achieved either directly, via an RS232
connection, or via modem and standard telephone lines. Remote
control is functionally equivalent to operating directly with
the evaluation instrument.
The above together with fully controlled trigger and alarm
facilities make the VIBRAS an ideal System for unattended
monitoring of vibration.
Please note:
The VIBRAS is primary designed for the construction industry
such as
. mine or quarry blasting
. pile-driving into the ground
. survey of traffic emissions
The VIBRAS is not designed
for seismic exploration or earthquake measurement.
